A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with an early morning shooting south of Cheyenne Mountain State Park, an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said.

Patrick Price, 24, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and prohibited use of a weapon. He was being held on $25,000 bond.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Penrose Hospital and later released, said EPSO spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby.

A shots fired call for the 8000 block of Piute Road came in just before 2:30 a.m. Friday, and deputies found a wounded man, Kirby said.

Kirby said someone heard three gunshots and screaming. The victim and shooter knew each other, Kirby said.
