1,500 jump in Colorado Springs mud puddles

It bills itself as the “more funner mud run.”

If Saturday’s 5K at the RAM Off-Road Park east of Colorado Springs is any indication, the Big Dog Brag lives up to its motto.

Wave after wave of families, friends and co-workers crowded the 5K course throughout the morning and into the early afternoon, tackling a few dozen obstacles, including multiple mud pits.

2015 Big Dog Brag Mud Run captured in 22 photos!

There was a giant slide into a puddle of mud, a giant slide into a puddle of rather muddy water, a cargo net climb, a rope climb, a tire climb. Everybody and her next-door neighbor was challenging other Big Dogs to a tug-of-war contest. Soliders were ready to see if you could “drop and give them 20” – or 50.

Organizers said about 1,500 people ran the course.

The local event benefits Angels of America’s Fallen, which assists children of service members and first responders who have died. Big Dog Brag – Pueblo is scheduled for July 11 in the canyons and open space next to CSU-Pueblo.

Discounted registration is available, beginning at $35 for kids.
