Rafter drowns in Colorado River near Glenwood Springs
GLENWOOD SPRINGS — A rafter on the Colorado River has died after falling out of a raft near Glenwood Springs.
The Post Independent reports that the man was in a raft carrying two men and a woman east of the Grizzly Creek area.
After the man fell out, the two people remaining in the raft were able to pull the man back in and began CPR while still in the raft. CPR was continued on shore, but the man could not be revived. He has not been named.
The Colorado at Dotsero, upstream from the accident, was flowing at 11,000 cubic feet per second Saturday evening, at the high end of historic flows.
