BLOG: Come join me on the ice!

If you’ve ever wanted to learn to curl, now is the time!

Come learn the basic skills on May 3 and join me on the ice for a short game at The Broadmoor World Arena Ice Hall (just south of the big arena).

Time is 3-5 p.m.

We’ll teach you the basics of the game, work hard to keep you upright and safe on the ice, show you how to deliver a stone and sweep a teammate’s stone down the ice, and guide you through a mini game.

We’ll even provide all of the equipment!

All you need to do is wear loose, warm clothing (layers are great) and clean, flat-soled athletic shoes – and bring a sense of adventure.

I promise that you’ll have a great time.

So gather a few friends or family members and come on down.

Cost is $30 a person ($25 for active military) or $50 per couple or $70 per family.

Your fee covers the cost of the ice.

All instruction and snacks (yeah, we’ll even feed you something yummy) are courtesy of volunteers from the club.

Our instructors are certified by the U.S. Curling Association.

Please register ahead of time, if possible, on the Broadmoor Curling Club website.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me or give me a ring at 719-237-6679.

Cheers, and good curling. I hope to see you May 3.
