Developer pitching Pikes Peak ski resort barred from Colorado securities market
Colorado’s securities commissioner on Monday announced that a Boulder man who allegedly violated the state’s securities act when seeking investors for a ski resort project on Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs has been permanently barred from participation in the Colorado securities market. The announcement came after an order for permanent injunction against Boulder’s John C. Ball was granted by District Court Judge Michael Vellejos.
Division of Securities officials allege that Ball, through his company The Resort at Pikes Peak LLC, fraudulently solicited and sold investments for his land development project.Ball was issued a cease and desist order in 2010 for allegedly violating the registration provisions under the Colorado Securities Act by offering an investment opportunity via a website.
