ESSENTIALS: Business briefs from the Pikes Peak region

– Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills has been recognized with the 2014 President’s Award by Ford Motor Co. The award honors dealerships that have excelled in automotive retailing in 2014, by providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Out of more than 3,000 Ford and Lincoln dealers nationwide, 376 were named winners of the President’s Award in 2014.

The President’s Award was established in 1998. Dealers become eligible through survey responses from customers related to their sales and service satisfaction.

“To achieve the President’s Award, dealers must exceed customer expectations every day in every department,” said Todd Rabourn, Denver Regional Manager for Ford Motor Co.

“This prestigious award salutes those top-performing Ford and Lincoln dealerships that embrace these philosophies, achieving among the highest levels of customer satisfaction – in both sales and service – in automotive retailing.”

– Harry Salzman of Salzman Real Estate Services was recently recognized by Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach for his leadership and for improving the economic vitality of the city.

Salzman and his partners donated property to The Foundation for Colorado Springs’ Future Inc., which is owned by the Economic Development Committee, and is now part of the Regional Business Alliance.

“Our city is fostering an environment for quality jobs growth and we thank Harry Salzman and his partners for their generous gift that will continue to support the attraction of new development and young professionals to our city,” Bach said.

“The funds of the asset will be used for the marketing efforts to attract more jobs to our city and further support the economy. This is our way of giving back to our wonderful community,” said Harry Salzman.

– Colorado Springs-based Bourbon Brothers Holding Corp. has changed its name to Southern Concepts Restaurant Group, part of an effort to fuel the restaurant company’s growth plans.

Southern Concepts says it will open its second Southern Hospitality Restaurant and Bar in Lone Tree in April. By year’s end, Southern Concepts president Mitchell Roth said the company expects to open at least two more Southern Hospitality fast casual locations in Denver and Colorado Springs, and as many as two units per quarter in 2016.

Roth already has said the company was looking at a downtown location near Kiowa and Tejon streets for its Springs restaurant.

In addition to the company’s name change and growth plans, Roth and former Colorado Lt. Gov. Jane Norton have joined Southern Concepts’ board of directors.
