BLOG: Colorado even on leader board at USA Curling Club Nationals
After two tight games in the first day of competition, Colorado is 1-1 at the 2015 USA Curling Club National Championships.
It felt great to pull out the win after a disappointing finish in our opening game against a tough Alaska team.
The team really came together, particularly in the second half of the game. We scored 2 in the 5th, but found ourselves down a couple minutes in time. Our skip, Cynthia Smith, dialed it in, and her decisive calls gave everyone a boost of confidence and we picked up time, as well.
The ice is keen and has a fantastic curl, thanks to the meticulous ice making crew. Great ice makes a fun game even better.

Team Colorado third (vice) and lead, Becca Wood and Rachel Sethi.
When curlers aren’t curling they watch curling! Especially when it’s the finals of the Brier (Canada nationals).
The ice at the new Fargo- Moorhead Curling Club is nice – and the expert ice crew has made it even better.

We left the Rockies far behind when we came to North Dakota!
