Pedestrian cited after being hit by car on North Academy
A 27-year-old man was ticketed early Sunday after he was hit by a car while dashing across a North Academy Boulevard intersection against the traffic light, Colorado Springs Police said.
Around 12:45 a.m., the man crossed the intersection of North Academy and Village Road South and was hit by a car; he was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Police found that the driver was not at fault, and investigators suspect the pedestrian had been drinking. He was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device. The incident closed northbound Academy for about 40 minutes.
