Colorado Avalanche outlook for this week
Maple Leafs at Avalanche, Thursday
Last Meeting: Avalanche lost 3-2 in overtime, Oct. 14, 2014.
The Maple leafs haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1967, but that hasn’t stopped the team from becoming the first NHL franchise worth a billion dollars. Phil Kessel, an American, is the team’s most dangerous forward (6G, 8A), while Dion Phaneuf leads all Toronto players in time on ice at 22:09 minutes per game.
Avalanche at Flyers, Saturday
Last Meeting: Avalanche lost 3-1, Feb. 6, 2014.
Claude Giroux’s arrest for grasping a policeman this offseason hasn’t affected his play, and he’s second on the team in points (2G, 11 A). The Flyers’ strength, like the Avs, isn’t on defense. With both teams allowing more than 32 shots a game, there’s a chance this turns into a shootout.
