Report: Jim Kelly says he has MRSA infection

Nearly two months after doctors told him he was cancer-free, former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly revealed he is facing a new health scare: a staph infection in his bones.

“I came down with MRSA,” Kelly told the Miami Herald. “I was cleared in September of the cancer — I have another MRI in two weeks. The Hall of Famer was first diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in May 2013. Surgery that removed all of his upper jaw and most of the left side of his cheek rid Kelly of the cancer. However, the cancer returned in March. The next batch of treatments lasted six weeks and included radiation and chemotherapy. A September MRI confirmed that he was cancer-free.
