Man wanted on federal warrant arrested in east Colorado Springs

A man wanted on a federal felony warrant was arrested Sunday when police stopped a car he was a passenger in and allegedly discovered weapons and suspected illegal narcotics in his possession, Colorado Springs police said.

Levi Allen Borgman, 35, was taken into custody on a federal felony arrest warrant for possession of a firearm about 11:30 p.m. near Chelton and Airport roads during a traffic stop, police said.

Borgman was allegedly found with several knives, a pair of brass knuckles and “a large quantity” of suspected heroin and methamphetamine, according to police reports.

Borgman was taken into custody on the federal warrant and arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution, manufacturing for dispensing or sale, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous or illegal weapon, police spokeswoman Lt. Catherine Buckley said.

The driver of the vehicle was ticketed and released for misdemeanor traffic charges, police said.
