A dispatcher with Colorado Springs police got some laughs and kept the public informed with a tweet posted Wednesday.

About 7:15 a.m. the Twitter account for the police communication center posted, “Cows in the road: Old Ranch betwn Voyager & Otero. We’re working to find the owner to get them moooved off the road.”

Police spokeswoman Lt. Catherine Buckley explained that all personnel at the communications center tweet out of one account and confirmed public safety communications supervisor Rich Suarez was the comical dispatcher.

“They are allowed to use humor because that obviously gets the message across,” Buckley said. “Anything we can all do to establish communication and still be professional, always works.”

About a dozen cows blocked both directions of Old Ranch Road, between Voyager Parkway and Otero Avenue, for about a half-hour, police said.
