Woman found in car in El Paso County identified, homicide ruled out

The death of a woman whose body was found in an SUV Sunday in east Colorado Springs will not be investigated as a homicide, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Dawn Frank, 28, of Simla, was identified as the victim but the cause and manner of death were pending a toxicology analysis, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Greg White.

The death was initially investigated as “suspicious,” but there were no signs of foul play at the scene and no evidence to suggest a homicide, White explained.

Frank’s body was found about 6 p.m. near Seneca Road and Ford Street, off Galley Road and Powers Boulevard, by an area resident.
