The death of a woman whose body was found in an SUV Sunday in east Colorado Springs will be investigated as “suspicious,” the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

An area resident reported the discovery about 6 p.m. near Seneca Road and Ford Street, off Galley Road and Powers Boulevard, said Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Greg White.

White said an autopsy was completed Monday by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, but did not release any details about the victim’s identity, citing an ongoing investigation and that next-of-kin notification had not been completed.
