Teen struck by vehicle near northeast Colorado Springs middle school
A 13-year-old boy got some bumps and bruises after he rode his bike into an oncoming vehicle Thursday morning in northeast Colorado Springs, police said.
The boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution and his parents were notified, police Lt. Jeff Jensen said.
The crash was reported about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Poudre Way and Bergen Drive, across from Skyview Middle School off North Powers and Stetson Hills boulevards, but police did not say if the boy is a Skyview student.
The boy was southbound on Poudre Way and rode his bicycle in front of a moving vehicle, Jensen said.
According to officer reports from the scene, the boy may have been trapped under the vehicle momentarily, but was quickly sitting up and alert.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and no ticket nor citation was issued, Jensen said.
