Jack Mitchell Clark was injured in a fatal crash Monday morning that took the lives of 17-year-old Beau Begier and 18-year-old Ryan Pappas. His condition was upgraded Thursday to fair.

The driver, an unnamed Parker teen, remains in juvenile detention without bond.

Clark’s family released the following statement Thursday:

“We wanted to let the community know that Jack is doing well. He is listed in fair condition today and is expected to make a full recovery. We thank God for Jack’s healing. We thank whoever called in the accident, the Monument Police, the Colorado State Patrol and Penrose Hospital. We are deeply touched by the kindness and support from friends, family and the Monument community.

“Our hearts break for the loss of Beau and Ryan. Our prayers are with Beau’s, Ryan’s and the driver’s families. We pray for peace and healing.”

Todd Knisley coached Beau Begier in wrestling and has been friends with his family for years. He paid his respects at a makeshift memorial at the accident site. (The Gazette/Jerilee Bennett)
