Colorado Springs fire crews made quick work of a structure fire Thursday at the New Horizon Apartments off North Union and Academy Boulevards, according to fire officials.

The blaze was first reported about 9 a.m. from the 4900 block of El Camino Drive, east of Fremont Park.

According to a tweet from the fire department, the blaze was extinguished by 9:20 a.m.

The cause for the fire was unknown and remained under investigation, fire officials said.

El Camino Drive is closed between Flintridge and Sonata drives for police and fire engines.
