Police said a man got a surprise Thursday morning when he woke up to find a pickup truck crashed and abandoned at his west Colorado Springs home.

The homeowner reported the incident about 8:30 a.m. and told police he had noticed a large crack on a wall inside his house on the 2000 block of King Street, off Mesa Road.

When he went outside to check what happened, the man found an unoccupied pickup truck had crashed onto the front of his house, police said.

According to police, the incident will be investigated as a hit-and-run because there was no one in or around the vehicle when the homeowner or the police arrived.
