Police had no evidence or suspect information after a man said he was shot in the hand Sunday afternoon as he walked in east Colorado Springs.

The victim told police that he was walking in an open field by the 3400 block of Van Teylingen Drive, off North Academy Boulevard, about 5:30 p.m. when he heard a loud “pop” and felt pain in his left hand, according to police reports.

The man was treated and released at a local hospital, but police did not confirm if the wound on his hand had been determined a gunshot wound.

The victim told police he saw a dark sedan traveling north on Van Teylingen Drive, but he had not seen who had shot at him.

Police did not find evidence at the scene of the reported shooting.
