A woman was alone Wednesday night when police say two people broke in to her east Colorado Springs home and assaulted her.

Officers found the 26-year-old victim with minor injuries about 9:30 p.m. at her home in the Stone Brook Terrace Apartments on the 1400 block of Tappan Circle, off Palmer Park and North Murray boulevards, police said.

According to police, Joseph Reyes, 35, was identified as one of the alleged burglars and was arrested a short distance from the apartment complex.

The victim’s ex-boyfriend’s sister, 27-year-old Ashley Peterson, was identified as the second suspect in the alleged burglary.

According to police, Peterson fled on foot and charges are pending for her.

Reyes was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and driving under the influence, according to police reports.

Shoppers stock up on cases of bottled water and other supplies in preparation for a hurricane and tropical storm heading toward Hawaii at the Iwilei Costco in Honolulu on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014. Two big storms so close together is rare in the eastern Pacific, and Hurricane Iselle could make landfall by Friday and Tropical Storm Julio could hit two or three days later, weather officials said.
