The death of a man whose body was found Tuesday morning will be investigated as a suspicious death until proven otherwise, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.

The body of a 50-year-old man was found by the side of the road about 4 a.m. around the area of Ridge Road and West Colorado Avenue across U.S. 24 from Red Rock Canyon Open Space, said spokesman Sgt. Greg White.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy Tuesday, White said. The man’s identity has not been released.
