Colorado Springs police is asking for the public’s help to find a man suspected of sexual assault and who could be armed and dangerous.

Investigators received a tip about a possible kidnapping on Sunday about 10:20 p.m. that led them to a female victim at a residence on the 3000 block of Monica Drive, off Hancock Expressway and South Academy Boulevard, police said.

The woman told police she had been strangled and sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Richard Leslie Joseph, 48, according to police reports.

Joseph was last seen driving a red 2001 Ford Escape with Colorado license plate 018-XCY, police said.

Anyone with information should call 911 immediately or police at 444-7000.
