UPDATE: Both crashes that tied up Interstate 25 through Colorado Springs on Thursday afternoon have been cleared.

Two separate car wrecks about an hour apart on southbound Interstate 25 are slowing traffic on the highway and adding to motorists’ woes Thursday.

The first two-vehicle crash without injuries was reported about 11:50 a.m. at Fillmore Street over southbound Interstate 25, Lt. John Godsey said.

About an hour later another two-vehicle collision at East Woodmen Road and the southbound Interstate 25 overpass blocked at least two lanes on the roadway, Godsey said.

One child complained of neck pain, but there were no injuries reported, Godsey said.

There was no word on how long the wrecks will take to clear off the road but motorists should avoid the area and find alternate routes, Godsey said.
