Rockies owner Dick Monfort reaches out to fan after controversial email

Rockies owner Dick Monfort reached out Wednesday to a frustrated Rockies fan from Grand Junction who was angered by an email response he had received from Monfort.

Monfort sent Mike Ferguson an apology email and also gave Ferguson his direct number so that Ferguson could call the owner. Monfort said he wanted to apologize directly to Ferguson.

According to the Rockies, Ferguson has yet to either return Monfort’s email or call him back.

The controversy began when, on July 4, Ferguson saved up money to take his family of five to Coors Field to watch their favorite team play the Los Angeles Dodgers. But the Rockies were shut out 9-0 that night, and Ferguson expressed his dissatisfaction with the product on the field.
