Colorado Springs man arrested after Kum and Go armed robbery

A Colorado Springs man was arrested in connection to the armed robbery of a Kum and Go store Sunday, according to police reports.

Ramon Dominguez, 29, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and booked into the El Paso County jail, records show.

A clerk at the Kum and Go store on the 3000 block of North Chestnut Street, north of West Fillmore Street, told police a man entered the store about 12:20 a.m. and displayed an unknown caliber handgun, demanding money, police said.

The robber then fled the store in an unknown direction and the clerk told police he thought he heard a single gunshot, but investigators did not find evidence that a gun had been fired.

Police identified the alleged robber as Dominguez and obtained an arrest warrant for him as well as a search warrant for his apartment on the 2500 block of King Street about 3 a.m. Monday, police said.

Dominguez was taken into custody without incident and will be advised of the charges at the El Paso County courthouse Monday afternoon, records show.
