The crash that killed a 48-year-old man when his motorcycle struck a Jeep Tuesday in northeast Colorado Springs remained under investigation, according to police reports.

Shannon Reece was driving a black 2008 Honda Night Hawk eastbound on Research Parkway about 4:50 p.m. and collided with a 2008 Jeep Wrangler that turned left onto Chapel Hills Drive, said police spokeswoman Lt. Catherine Buckley. Reece was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Buckley said.

The Jeep’s driver, identified as 39-year-old Jason Rose, was not injured and had not been ticketed by Wednesday because detectives were still investigating the crash, Buckley said.

The intersection of Chapel Hills Drive and Research Parkway was closed until about 8:30 p.m., police said.
