Colorado Springs firefighters responded to a structure fire Tuesday morning at the Clarion Hotel on West Bijou Street, west of Interstate 25.

According to scanner traffic, flames were visible in the second floor from the outside of the hotel and fire crews were using skylights and windows to ventilate the blaze, which was first reported about 9:10 a.m.

Traffic is blocked at West Bijou and Spruce streets and the public should avoid the area.

Capt. Steve Oswald, with the Colorado Springs Fire Department, said there are no injuries and that all hotel occupants safely evacuated.

Oswald said fire department engines arrived within four minutes of being called, which helped limit the fire to the second-floor conference area. No hotel rooms were damaged.
