Police: Knife-wielding man attacks another during dog walk
A 26-year-old man was attacked by an unknown assailant armed with a knife Sunday night in northeast Colorado Springs, police said.
The victim was walking his dog in a field on the 3800 block of Van Teylingen Drive, south of Austin Bluffs Parkway and west of North Academy Boulevard, about 10 p.m. when an unidentified man brandishing a knife demanded the victim’s money.
When the victim claimed not to have any money, the attacker swung the knife, cutting the man in the upper arm, police said.
The victim kicked the man in the knee and the attacker fled empty-handed south on Van Teylingen Drive.
Police said the victim did not need medical attention and the knife injury was minor.
Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but did not find the attacker.
