Police: Colorado Springs man’s death not considered suspicious
Colorado Springs police said the death of a man whose body was found in Monument Valley Park Sunday was not considered suspicious.
A passerby walking in the area where the Interstate 25 overpass goes by the park, near Mesa Road and West Cache La Poudre Street, reported seeing what looked like an unconscious man leaning against the west wall of the overpass at about 4 p.m., Sgt. Mark DeVorss said.
The man, who may have been dead for two days by the time he was found, was in his mid 50s and possibly homeless, DeVorss said.
The El Paso County coroner’s office will perform an autopsy Monday to determine the man’s identity and cause of death.
