Rockies rookie Eddie Butler ready to take on Dodgers at Coors Field
Michael Cuddyer has a good feeling about Eddie Butler, the Rockies’ hot pitching prospect who makes his big-league debut Friday night at Coors Field against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“Eddie’s a good kid. He’s happy to be here, and he’s respectful of everything,” Cuddyer said. “But, of course, the greatest compliment you can give somebody is that they are from Chesapeake, Virginia.”
Butler and Cuddyer still call Chesapeake home. In fact, last fall, Cuddyer asked Butler to lend a hand at Cuddyer’s annual youth hitting clinic.
Then Cuddyer got to see more of Butler during spring training when Butler and fellow prospect Jon Gray wowed the Rockies’ coaching staff and veteran players with their talent and poise.
