Police investigate ‘suspicious materials’ in northeast Colorado Springs home
Police arrested a man Monday in connection with an ongoing suspicious materials investigation at a residence in northwest Colorado Springs.
Todd Schneider, 38, was arrested on suspicion of harassment and three additional misdemeanor warrants, according to police reports.
Officers checking on a harassment complaint from a home on the 500 block of Buckeye Drive, off West Woodmen Road, found powders and containers that could be used for the manufacturing of explosives, police said.
Schneider was allegedly in the garage when officers arrived about 11:15 p.m. and ran inside the house when police tried to speak with him.
Police obtained a warrant to search the home and the Regional Explosives Unit assisted in the investigation, while Schneider was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000.
