Colorado Springs man arrested after fight, one hospitalized

A man was arrested Monday after allegedly beating another man and sending him to the hospital, Colorado Springs police said. Lewis James Cox, 27, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and booked into the El Paso County jail, records show.

Cox allegedly punched the victim, knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the head during a fight reported about 6:45 p.m. on the 1800 block of Zebulon Drive, off South Chelton Road and South Academy Boulevard, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

Cox will be advised of the charges at the El Paso County courthouse on Wednesday, court records show.
