Man suspected in Colorado Springs attack, robbery

A man remained in jail Thursday after police said he attacked and robbed an employee closing up a business in east Colorado Springs Wednesday night.

Amata Marshall, 34, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and booked into the El Paso County jail, records show.

An employee of Weber Wright Moving, 250 S. Academy Blvd., was closing up about 10 p.m. when someone hit the employee on the head with an unknown object and made off with the victim’s wallet, police said.

Officers in the area saw a man who allegedly matched the robber’s description, later identified as Marshall, according to police reports.

Marshall allegedly tried to run away from police, but he was caught and taken into custody, police said.
