Colorado Springs police confirmed the body of a man was found Tuesday morning near Old Farm Circle and Iron Horse Trail, north of Barnes Road.

The man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, said Lt. Jeff Jensen.

The body was reported to police about 5:40 a.m. by an acquaintance of the man, said Jensen.

There are no road closures in the area and police said there is no danger to the public.
