One in custody after shots fired at Medicine Shoppe in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs police have arrested one man in connection with the investigation of shots fired and an armed robbery on North Union Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Scanner traffic indicated an armed man was inside The Medicine Shoppe at 2431 N. Union Blvd., off East Van Buren Street.

The man was taken into custody about 2:30 p.m. and no injuries were reported, police said.

All employees were evacuated from the store and police blocked off the Union Boulevard at Van Buren Street.

Audubon and Stratton elementary schools along with Mann Middle School in Colorado Springs District 11 were on lockdown, but the lockdown was lifted and students dismissed on time, according to a D-11 tweet.

District 11 tweeted that all students and staff were safe.
