Colorado Springs man suspected of attempted home break-ins

A man allegedly tried to break into at least two homes Sunday, then forced his way into a residence in northeast Colorado Springs while the homeowner was sleeping, police said.

Patrick Yakir, 25, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass and criminal mischief, court records show.

Police received a 911 call about 2:30 a.m. from a victim who said a man had broken into a home on the 3300 block of Austin Bluffs Parkway.

The man, later identified as Yakir, was reportedly intoxicated, police said.

No injuries were reported and Yakir was booked into the El Paso County jail, records show.
