Colorado Springs City Council OKs civilian
pay schedule

The Colorado Springs City Council gave the final approval to a new city civilian pay schedule this week.

The new pay schedule is a result of nearly two years of compensation study to see how Colorado Springs compares with other cities of its size and similar job descriptions in private industry.

The council also approved spending $400,000 from its 2013 rainy-day fund to give 46 city employees raises, which brings them up to the new minimum starting salary and provides raises for 370 employees to reflect their experience.

The raises are retroactive to April 1.
