Residents evacuated after gas line hit near downtown Colorado Springs back home
A Colorado Springs Utilities crew working on a water project near East Cache La Poudre and El Paso Street accidentally ruptured a gas line Tuesday, forcing the evacuation of two homes.
“There were … between six and eight people evacuated, but they’re all back in now,” utility spokeswoman Natilia Sibert said.
The gas line was hit just before 2 p.m. Fire department crews clamped the gas line about 2:20 p.m.
