The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying a man who robbed Peoples Bank in Monument on Monday.

“The same Peoples Bank was robbed on May 24 of this year,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “There are several similarities concerning the suspect’s description and suspect’s actions during each event.”

In the latest robbery, a man walked into the bank at 1899 Woodmoor Drive and demanded money. The man ran away with an undisclosed amount of money. Described as between 6 feet and 6 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build, he was wearing blue jeans, a dark long-sleeve shirt, a dark ball cap and glasses.

The sheriff’s office released bank surveillance photos and asked the community for help in identifying the robber.

Furthermore, any information regarding any vehicles that may have been stopped along the northbound shoulder of I-25 in this area around the time of the crime could assist in the investigation, the release states.
