Kansas man, 70, dies in motorcycle crash in Teller County
A 70-year-old Kansas man died in a motorcycle crash about 12 miles south of Florissant Thursday morning, the Colorado State Patrol said.
The unidentified man and a female passenger were northbound on Teller County Road 11 in a 2007 Harley Davidson when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, troopers said.
“The Harley Davidson traveled off the right side of the road, rotated in a clockwise direction, became airborne and collided with a fence post, ejecting both the driver and passenger,” troopers said.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 69-year-old woman from Canon City, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The woman was wearing a helmet.
