The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is warning RV owners to be cautious about what they leave in their vehicles while they’re in storage facilities after a series of break-ins in July.

The sheriff’s office has investigated three separate but similar trespass cases at different storage facilities in the Cimarron Hills area so far this month.

The three cases have similarities that led investigators to believe they were likely done at the hands of the same person or people, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer said in an press release.

The incidents happened at Springs Auto and Truck Services, 6035 Galley Road; Stetson Hills Storage, 5210 Tamlin Road; and Your Storage Center, 7230 Space Village Ave.

In each case, the perimeter fence of the storage facility was cut before the suspect or suspects got into three to four RVs. Two televisions were stolen from an RV at Stetson Hills Storage. No property was stolen from the RVs at the other two storage facilities.

“There is no suspect information available at this time,” the press release states. “The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to call 390-5555 no matter how insignificant the information may seem.”
