Light snow expected in Pikes Peak region

A quick moving storm is expected to leave about an inch of snow in the lower elevations of Colorado Springs by sunrise, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Areas of higher elevation, such as Monument and the Air Force Academy, could get up to three inches of snow.

“This is a fairly quick moving storm, so it’s not going to last really long. It should be tapering off as the morning progresses,” meteorologist John Kalina said Wednesday night.

Kalina said drier conditions will be developing later Thursday into at least Friday night. He said there’s the possibility of cooler weather and more snow from this weekend into early next week.
