A new Colorado Springs charter school expected to open next school year will hold parent information meetings almost every Thursday through April.

Global Village Academy – Colorado Springs was approved by the state Colorado Charter School Institute in December. The K-8 school will offer immersion instruction in English and Chinese, Spanish or German.

Meetings are plans to start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 21, 28, March 7, 14, 28, and April 11, 18 and 25. All meetings will be at Fire Station No. 8, 3737 Airport Road.

Global Village will open in August in Southeastern Colorado Springs and will also feature programs highlighting military traditions of leadership, citizenship and service. The free public school will offer a free full-day kindergarten program.
