ANITA’S PICK: Colorado Springs Oktoberfest

With a stout German name like Langemach, it’s no surprise that I find myself right at home when it comes to the Colorado Springs Oktoberfest. This three-day lederhosen extravaganza has more beer, brats and German dancers than you could shake a frothy, ale-filled stein at. Be there to tap the kegs from 4 p.m.-midnight Friday, check out the Dachshund Dash and the many bands from noon-midnight on Saturday or wrap up the festival with the OkTUBAfest and costume contest from noon-6 p.m. Sunday. It all takes place at Security Service Field, 4385 Tutt Blvd. with tickets costing $10, $8 for active duty military and seniors, $6 for designated drivers and $5 for kids ages 6-20. VIP tickets are limited and cost $100 but include a ton of goodies. Learn more by calling 635-8803 or by going online to csoktoberfest.com.
