ANITA’S PICK: The Hopeful Heroines
Recently I saw The Hopeful Heroines perform at Marmalade at Smokebrush. To say I was transfixed would be a massive understatement. Members Xanthe Alexis and Harriett Landrum stir a musical brew of folk, gypsy and classical music that, when performed live, amplifies your curiosity with each note. A show with them alone would paint me pleased. But The Zodiac Venue and Bar, 230 Pueblo Ave., didn’t stop there. The Zodiac hosts the Heroines, Grant Sabin, Chauncy Crandall, Moonhoney and Good Morning Accordion Terrorist all on one ticket. You can catch the show at 8 p.m. Friday for $5. Call 632-5059.
