WALDO CANYON FIRE: Clothing giveaway to help rebuild victims’ wardrobes
Clothing donated by a California woman for victims of the Waldo Canyon fire will be given away from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Silver Key Senior Services, 2250 Bott Ave.
“As it turns out, we got some great things: dress clothes, work clothes, go-out-and-clean-up-your-yard clothes,” said Silver Key spokeswomanLorri Orwig.
The clothing was collected by Joni Mitchell (no, not the singer/songwriter/artist), a Palm Desert, Calif., woman who lost her home in a fire several years ago. She conducted a clothing drive and collected enough to fill 17. Then she worked with FedEx to get the boxes delivered to Silver Key.
