A fight in south Colorado Springs Monday morning resulted in a kicked puppy, an attempted fork stabbing, a shove down stairs and a head wound from a man tripping over rocks.

According to police, the fight happened about 9:20 a.m. on the 200 block of North Murray Boulevard.

After an initial confrontation, police say John Myers, 42, kicked the puppy of 56-year-old Donald Hearn. After that, police say, Myers pushed Hearn down a flight of stairs and then tried to stab him with a fork but missed. Hearn was able to run away with the puppy and Myers was injured when he tried to run after them and tripped on rocks, cutting his forehead. Myers was treated for his injuries and then arrested. Hearn had minor injuries from the fall down the stairs.
