A standoff that lasted for almost three hours Monday night ended without arrest, police said.

Officers were called to the area around Carmel Drive and Monterey Road about 5:45 p.m. after hearing reports that a bail bondsman was chasing a wanted fugitive in the area.

Police identified him as Ryan Hernandez, 30.  Neighbors reportedly told police that Hernandez was carrying a weapon.

Police blocked off the neighborhood and urged neighbors to stay inside while they searched the area. They did not find him and called off the search about 8:15 p.m.
