At first glance USA Network’s “Political Animals” appears to be a Hollywood-styled Clinton family biography. The story centers around a well-respected Secretary of State (Sigourney Weaver) with a philandering ex-husband and former president of the United States (Ciaran Hinds). But there’s much more to this show than that. In fact, after two episodes the Clinton similarities disappear. It’s a clever show with some light humor (Ellen Burstyn as Weaver’s mother is a one-liner machine) and well worth checking out.  “Political Animals” airs Sunday’s on USA (Comcast channel 770) at 8 p.m.
