City helps connect parents for carpools

Families seeking carpools for their school-aged kids can make connections thanks to a city service. The Transit Services Division of the Colorado Springs MetroRides group offers a free schoolpool service. Those interested should submit an application. Families then receive a list of families in the neighborhood with children who attend the same school with contact information to set up carpools. For more information or an application, visit tinyurl.com/schoolpoolcs. Applications are also available by mail by calling MetroRides at 385-7433, option 2.If schoolpool does not turn up a match, the city bus may be an option. Bus fare for kids younger than 18-years-old is only .85 cents per ride.
